Byron Stock, president of Byron Stock & Associates LLC, a consulting organization devoted to making work a place where people flourish and productivity improves, has worked in the area of training and performance improvement for over 30 years. For the past thirteen years, Byron has focused his practice exclusively on applied Emotional Intelligence (EI) skill-building training. He pioneered a model for EI skill-building that combines classroom training with personalized coaching, ensuring each person develops sustainable skills relevant to his or her work and personal life. He has delivered over 200 presentations and facilitated over 50 workshops on EI. As a self-professed “recovering engineer,” Byron views the development of EI skills as a powerful approach to achieve strategic objectives, lead change and create resilient, high performing organizational cultures. He recently released his latest book, Smart Emotions for Busy Business People and is published in Global CEO, The Corporate Board journal, Training Today, and Performance Improvement. Byron has worked with organizations as large as McDonalds, Herman Miller, US Postal Service, WSBT-TV, Con-Way Transportation and as small as the Sunshine House.

Byron delivers leading-edge technology developed by an innovative, nonprofit research and education institute that offers its proven technology through professionals such as Byron who meet their rigorous standards of certification. The institute's work has been featured on ABC's "Good Morning America," "Peter Jennings' World News Tonight," CNN, A&E, and "Inside Edition." In addition to being cited in the Harvard Business Review, the institute's research is published in such peer review jou als as the American journal of Cardiology, the journal for the Advancement in Medicine and Stress Medicine.

Prior to his focus on Emotional Intelligence, he designed and developed over 15 different training and education programs for organizations such as GE, Motorola, and Whirlpool and held positions in Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, Human Resource, Management Development, and Corporate Education. Byron holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University and an MBA from Xavier University.
