Kancho Cameron Shayne has devoted 22 years to the study and mastery of body organization and awareness through the classical arts of Yoga, Martial Arts and Meditation. His keen understanding of mind/body dynamics, coupled with an eye for the complex qualities of movement has made him one of the most sought after mind-body-spirit innovators in the world.
His integration of Yoga, Martial Arts, Meditation and holistic health are drawn from decades of continuous study starting at the age of 12 when he began studying the traditional Korean art of Moo Du Kwon. After 8 years of study he was introduced to Olympic Style Tae Kwon Do, which had heavy influences on his understanding of the science of technical movement. At the age of 21 he began studying Hatha Yoga in New York, completely transforming his understanding of internal energy.
In 1999 he returned to Los Angeles and began studying Okinawan Karate-Do, which introduced breaking techniques and an array of weapons including the nunchaku, bo and katana. To complete his overall understanding of leverage, body organization and power Kancho began studying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu under the legendary Rickson Gracie.
During his 12 years in Los Angeles he worked as a personal bodyguard for industry entertainers such as Sean Penn and Charlie Sheen. His private students include actors such as Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston and Meg Ryan. He helped Olympian Kerri Walsh win a gold medal in 2005 as well as choreograph the fight sequences with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker for Rush Hour 1 & 2.
In 2004 he abdicated his former black belt rankings assuming the title Kancho - Creator and Founder of Budokon International.
Currently he travels throughout the US, Japan and the UK teaching Budokon to thousands of students from many different walks of life.

Favorite Quotes & Thoughts from Cameron Shayne
Founding principles of Kancho Cameron Shayne:
Simplicity, Integrity, Compassion
- In Budokon there is nothing to gain.
- Always honor your Self, Teachers, Parents and the Way.
- Practice non-attachment, simplicity, patience and compassion.
- Embrace death as you embrace life.
- Never lie, deceive or be partial because of race, religion, creed or social standing. All life comes from and returns to Source.
- Resolve situations with decisiveness; resolve problems before they arise; know when to stop.
- Fighting is a choice; defense of self is not. If you must fight, enter battle as if entering a funeral. Defeat your enemy by harmonizing with him. Reveal to him his folly before his advance.
- Learn not to overdo. Overdoing creates decay.
- Do not be attached to possessions or people.
- Always be kind with your thoughts, words and deeds; be genuine with your praise; be generous with your love, food and wealth; treat everyone as an honored guest
- Accomplish one task at a time. Take as much care at the end as you do at the beginning. Leave no task unfinished no matter how unimportant it seems. Master the fundamentals of things; all else is built upon them.
- Servitude before mastery.
- Know the Self and you know the Ete al. Knowing the Ete al is to be illuminated.
- Those who talk don't know. Those who know don't talk. Accept that you know nothing. Knowing nothing we return to Source.
- Be resolute but don't boast. Succeed but don't brag.
- Let your yes be your yes and your no be your no. Never swear by anything.
- Treat others as you would like to be treated. Give to others, as you would like to be given to.
- Conquer your cravings.
- Recognize the universe as your Self and you can be happy anywhere. Love the world as your Self and you can care for it properly. Regard all life as your Self and you will find the Way.
- Remove obstacles from your own path before trying to remove them from another's.
- The Way is the natural order of all things. All answers lie in the Way. All of life is an aspect of the Way.
