Marketing is simply communicating the value of what you have to offer to those who can benefit from it. The first step is to position yourself not only as an expert but as THE expert. To become a well paid speaker, it doesn't mean that you have to work yourself to death or frantically start a huge social media campaign etc. None of that will work for you if you don’t first have the vision. Not every bureau operates by the same principles but here are the basics. Commission Bureaus work on a commission of your speaking fee so if your fee is less than $2,500, you're not ready to be represented by a third party. (You cannot add on to your fee to compensate for bureau commission). You'll need to gain more experience so that you can command at least $3,500 and then you'll be ready to explore representation.
