I was born in London, England and have also lived in Montréal, Toronto, and now reside in Los Angeles, four of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world. I believe my life’s path prepared me to become one of the many high demand Accent - Dialect coaches.

I must tell you that I love my job. Helping you to communicate is my passion. With people across the global now so closely connected, it’s extremely important that we can do so with ease and clarity.

What makes me an accent expert? The answer is, my background. I have been immersed in world accents and different languages every day of my life; English (Cockney, London, Manchester etc), Irish, French, Moroccan, Persian, Indian Italian, Greek, Russian, Chinese, Jamaican, Scottish, Polish, Canadian, New Yorkese, Lebanese…truly an international upbringing!

My foreign students remark how my worldly experience helps put them at ease, that I grasp their frustrations, that I “get them”. I do not teach at them, I share. Conversely, my American students are amazed how my American accents are so authentic.

I’m an autodidact (self-taught). My teaching style is organic, catering to your needs, goals and schedule. I have created an original approach, incorporating my own techniques with fundamentals like IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) and other proven concepts. My approach is very much like that of real life character, Lionel Logue, the elocution teacher in the film, THE KING’S SPEECH, a brilliant film if you haven’t seen it!

I promise you, it’s an enjoyable process. This is not a dry, preprogrammed course. I want you to look forward to the lessons and always have the desire to learn.

I speak with the most desired American accent for professionals, the Standard American accent. It's considered neutral, with no hint of regional sounds. I designed my accent to be this way. It’s no accident!

I’m also expert at the neutral British/English accent (RP), often desired by those outside of the USA and Canada.

Clear diction is also a part of an accent. I guide you towards clear speech, regardless of your nationality. Foreign and American born people benefit greatly from proper enunciation, as it raises communication skills creating better life opportunities. Good diction implies intelligence and confidence.

Nonverbal communication is another important component to the interchange of ideas. Having been a successful actress, (I have starred and co-starred in more than 100 television shows, commercials and radio dramas throughout my career), I am acutely aware how behaviors and unconscious emotions affect observers. I will alert you to conduct that may be inhibiting your growth.

I’m also an accent coach for actors, guiding sounds to suit respective characters. I won the prestigious Back Stage Magazine's Favorite Los Angeles Dialect Coach in 2010 and 2011 (they have since retired the category). I was also named one the Top 5 Voice Coaches in Hollywood by Hollywood Weekly Magazine in 2010. I’ve worked with actors from all over the world on 100s of different accents.

I instruct students in my office in Los Angeles or worldwide via Skype, and I’m available to travel to you anywhere in the world. I can conduct group workshops for your company’s employees who need to converse comfortably with American and British clients or associates.

My goal is to guide you to be the best possible you in every situation; a strong leader, a powerful motivator or a caring professional.

ACTORS

Prepare for an audition: While we work with the dialogue from your sides, I will immerse you in the accent by conversing in it for the entire session. I find this highly effective especially if you have a short time to prepare for your audition.

Add to your repertoire: Prepare and polish accents in advance. Film, TV and stage productions are always casting for specifically accented roles. Determine which accents suit you best, then refine them so you are fluent and always equipped. This allows you to focus solely on character.

On the job: You have booked the job, your character work continues. I can prep you during rehearsal or before shooting begins. I can also accompany you on set to continue our work and keep your accent sharp and on target. Ongoing phone coaching is available if needed.

PUBLIC SPEAKERS, BUSINESS PEOPLE, STUDENTS

Communicate with confidence: Modify or reduce your accent to Neutral - Standard American. No more repeating yourself and having to tell people your origins. Be clearly understood. Maximize your potential in social and professional situations.

How to get started

MY TECHNIQUE

I utilize text and conversation. I create text for you that employs the vowel and consonant sounds that you need to amend for your new accent. If you are an actor and have a script for a specific role, then we can work with your scenes. If you are a business person requiring a Neutral or Standard American accent, then we work with material geared for your type of business.

I find that my own phonetical spelling of words for your new accent immensely successful. IPA (International Phonetic Alphabet) is a study unto itself and helpful for some but for the majority who need to learn quickly, I write out the words as you hear them.

In addition, I encourage you to immerse yourselfin their new accent, to use it every day, while we are perfecting it. Surroun, surrounding themselves with native speakers from the region that they emulate...it's easier than you may think
