How to Have a Sexy Voice
I was asked a lot about this question. What kind of voice is sexy? I often hear people say, "I have a sexy voice when I'm having a cold, because it's low." Some say people who smoke, especially ladies, have a sexy voice. That can not be wrong enough. Smoking causes permanent damage to your vocal folds (vocal cords) and your voice can only get worse while you age. In both cases, it's an unhealthy voice.

Find Your Voice Resonance
What does a voice with resonance sound like? A speaker with a resonant voice exudes confidence, credibility and conviction. It draws you in and keeps you sitting on the edge of your seat. A leader with a resonant voice radiates passion, authority and humanity. It leaves you impact and inspires you to take action. A friend with a resonant voice permeates authenticity, warmth and empathy. It ensures you to pen your heart and let go of the trouble.

Top 7 Questions About Your Speaking Voice
1. Can I change my voice? No. Your voice can't be changed, but it could be improved when you breathe properly and use your whole body instead of just your mouth and throat to speak. 2. Does a good voice mean a deeper voice? Absolutely not. To develop a good voice is not about going deeper. If you press your voice down into a lower end, you won't feel comfortable and you'll get tired easily and quickly. A good voice means a fuller and richer voice, which is supported by diaphragmatic breathing and full of resonance and harmony. 3. How important is breathing?

Develop Your Leadership Voice
As a leader, do you have the voice that successfully conveys what you want and need to convey without being misunderstood and misinterpreted? Does your voice work for you in engaging, inspiring and influencing your teams? It's not only what you say, but also how you say it. As a leader, you cannot overlook this powerful tool, your voice. Is your voice helping you or failing you in establishing credibility, commanding respect, and conveying your authority? There are four elements in a leader's voice: clarity, confidence, command, and concern. 1. Clarity

From Passive to Assertive - Harness the Power of Your Voice
Do you find it difficult asserting yourself, either in a professional setting or in your personal life? To assert yourself means that you stand up for your own rights while respecting others'; you defend your own boundaries while respecting others'; you express your own opinions, needs, and feelings without apology or hurting others. I love this interpretation about assertiveness: to disagree without being disagreeable.

Beat That Monotone (I)
Are you monotone? There's nothing wrong with monotone except that it's boring. Studies show monotone is the No. 1 thing that your audience can't stand. Whether you are giving me a presentation, or leading a team, you have to overcome it. A monotone voice shows no enthusiasm and interest in what you are talking about, even though it might not be the case. If your audience, be it one or a group, can not hear your interest in your topic, they are not going to be interested either. How are you going to engage, persuade and motivate them?

Myths of Volume and Pitch
What's the difference between volume and pitch? In many presentation training or public speaking training courses, it's never explained clearly. Most of my clients are confused with volume and pitch. When being asked to increase their volume, they ended up raising their pitch. Volume refers to the loudness or softness of your sound. It's a quantitative degree of change. Pitch refers to the highness or lowness of your sound.

Free From Hoarseness
Some of my clients talk very softly and they told me it's because they don't want to use their voice too much, with the conce of damaging their throat and experiencing hoarseness. Do you have the same conce ? If you are a trainer, speaker, teacher, or other professionals that need to talk for long hours, you can't talk too softly because it not only projects an image of being unsure, uncertain, or unconfident, but also your listeners have to strain their ears to hear you and sooner or later they'll give up and turn off.

Eliminate That Nasality
Nasality is the result of too much sound coming through your nose. You've heard the voice that sound extremely whiny or twangy. Listening to them can give you the feeling as finge ails scratching on a chalkboard. You just want to cover your ears. You may not have that excessive nasality. However, you may have a slight nasality that you don't realize. To check how strong your nasality is, I'd like to ask you to put your fingers slightly on your nose, say the word "he". Did you feel any vibration? If so, you have at least one sound that should not come through your nose.

Spice Up Your Presentation With Vocal Variety
What is vocal variety? Vocal variety refers to the proper variations in volume, pitch, rate, pace, etc. throughout your presentation. The purpose of incorporating vocal variety is to add meaning, interest, involvement, and impact in your presentation. What's the opposite of vocal variety? You may think it is monotone. Monotone is more related with lack of emotions. In fact, it's just part of the answer. The opposite of vocal variety is sameness.
