About 2 years ago I began a journey into health and fitness for myself. I was a very unfit person that was not really extremely overweight, but had slowly over the years put on weight. I was very sedentary, doing NO exercise at all and would huff and puff just running up one flight of stairs or around the block. I was never athletic or into sports and disliked the gym. I started as a size 10. Now 18 months later, I have lost over 30 lbs, am a size 2, have run 5km races in 34 minutes (no walking or stopping), and am in better shape tha I've ever been in my life and consider myself athletic! Best of all, I feel great and love all the new activities I'm trying! I've also lost all cravings for junk food, sugar, salt, pastries and coffee.

I find fitness effects me every day. I can now shovel the walks, mow the grass, carry more groceries, etc - with ease and without struggling to get through it or need help or oxygen. ;-) So fitness is not just for the "jocks" or athletic people of the world - it is for all of us. A healthy body also leads to a healthier mind - which I've learned first hand myself. I am less stressed, sleep better and handle surprises and problems of daily life much better tha I used to.
I've created this site to share how I did it with as many people as possible, and help others do the same. I believe anyone can do it and there are some simple principals that work, IF you are willing to make changes in your lifestyle to get the results. There are no magic pills.

Most people think I'm about 30, not 40 (which I just hit recently). And I plan on continuing that trend and going to the next level myself - which for me is vegan (no meat, dairy or eggs). You may not be ready for that (I wasn't a year ago either trust me!) but baby steps and you decide what works for you. I believe in the principal of regeneration and that the human body is an amazing thing that can heal itself - given the right tools. I plan on healing in myself so that: my eyesight is 20/20 again and I do not to need glasses, my allergies disappear, as do my asthma and a uterine fibroid.

I now love to run, work out at the gym, play floor hockey and golf. I also like to hang with my friends, go salsa dancing, visit my family, read, continue learning always, travel, go to art shows (or participate in them), go to live theatre, play with dogs, play with my nephew, generally enjoy life and all it has to offer. Now I do it with much more energy and vitality and you can too!
