Originally from Pennsylvania, I was raised in a small town where farms were more common than streetlamps. This is a great place to grow up, of course I didn’t think so at the time! I had an ideal childhood, two terrific parents that taught me how to be kind, polite, respectful, and a hard worker. I also had two sisters (still do!) that I got along with quite well, believe it or not.

For me, staying in that small town would have been torture, so I fled (hitchhiked, really) to Florida after leaving college in Harrisburg. Life in the sunshine state was no picnic, and my computer skills didn’t get me a job right away. I realized quickly life was harder in the “real world”. I finally settled down, got married, and had a terrific son. Everything is going great, right? Not really…

Fast forward to 2006, I’m now divorced and wondering how to find true happiness – if that’s even possible! I started reading self-help books, probably Anthony Robbins book “Awaken the Giant Within” first of all because it was the only one I owned at the time (I now have a nicely stocked library). Slowly I absorbed enough from all of the books to realize I had to change – which meant taking massive action! Happiness for me is a journey, not a destination, and I’m still headed in the direction that will ultimately lead me to help thousands of others find happiness as well. That is the reaso I’m here at SelfGrowth.com, and within the next year you will probably hear much more from me. If you get a chance, stop by and say hello! I will gladly do the same. Until our paths cross, be happy

Good day, I would like to talk today about something I read recently conce ing happiness, or better still, the lack of it. Normally when we think of pursuing happiness it’s within the context of striving for something positive in life, such as a goal, an ideal, a behavior, or something tangible that we want. How about the opposite end of the spectrum? Can we make our lives happier by moving away from the things we despise? Since that is the topic of my article, the answer is a resounding “YES”.

Good day, I have question for you today, one that I think may change your perspective about yourself a bit. Do you consider yourself an expert? I hope there are at least one or two subjects that you are considered quite good at, very knowledgeable at least, if not an outright expert. If not, maybe you aren’t giving yourself the credit you deserve! Is that possible? The reaso I ask, is because today there are so many people that seem to be experts. Maybe they don’t all come right out and say it but they imply that they know so much more than you do, am I right?

Good day, There is an old expression that many of you probably learned as children that goes “I will believe it when I see it!” This is the common belief that we should only believe the things we see with our eyes, and not be so gullible as to believe things blindly until proven otherwise. Where did this saying come from, and does it still hold true? I too used to think that in order to be sure you weren’t being “played”, you should always depend on things that are proven. In most cases this means “don’t believe in hearsay, don’t take anybody else’s word for it”.
