Dr. K. Candis Best

Dr. K. Candis Best is an educator,speaker, coach and author. In May of 2008, she made her literary debut with Leaving Legacies: Reflections from thePrickly Path to Leadership, an entertaining and moving account of hereleven year odyssey as a public health executive that was recognized by USABook News as one of the best books of 2008. In addition to a law degree fromVillanova University, she possesses a Masters Degree in Business Administrationfrom Adelphi University and a Ph.D. in Social Welfare Research and PolicyDevelopment from Stony Brook Universityon Long Island, where she enjoyed thedistinction of being a W. Burghardt Turner Fellow. In early 2010 she will add a Masters Degreein Psychology with a specialization in Leadership Coaching to her list ofcredentials. She is Board Certified in Health Care Management and a Fellow ofthe American College of Health Care Executives and a member of theInte ational Association of Coaches. Her research interests include leadershipdevelopment, career management, transpersonal studies and self-leadershipcoaching.
