When A Spiritual Retreat Is The Best Way Forward
Someone once said that the greatest source of suffering on Earth is the human mind, and it must be true. For the vast majority of humans physical pain comes and goes fairly quickly in their lives, but the mental anguish that comes from being locked in the prison of your own mind continues relentlessly 24 hrs a day.

Everyday Focal Points For Stillness
A quiet mind, an open heart, and endless personal energy are all aspects that we wish for in this changing world. This triad of spiritual strength may help all of humanity one day. With our daily racing to and from appointments of regular (mundane) life, it can seem a bit difficult and even stressful to take time for nurturing ourselves and releasing the stress. The speed and complexity of this age is powerful with its resources and technologies. In order to keep our spirit strong we seek solace and guidance from outside sources.

Before, During & After Your Spiritual Retreat
If you are considering a spiritual retreat, congratulations! This is a profound decision to make for yourself. As we age life inevitably becomes more complex. Taking a spiritual retreat at critical transition points in your life can be analogous to upgrading the operating system on your computer: it allows you to process the more complex issues that are coming up in your life. A good first step is to consider your intention for the retreat. Take the time to ask yourself about your innermost feelings and desires, then write down your answers for increased clarity.

Favorite Quotes & Thoughts from Ed Preston
At SpiritQuest Retreats our philosophy is perhaps best summed up by this quote from Lao Tzu, known as the Father of Taoism: "If you want to awaken all of humanity, then awaken all of yourself, if you want to eliminate the suffering in the world, then eliminate all that is dark and negative in yourself. Truly, the greatest gift you have to give is that of your own self-transformation."
