My life is sort of a patchwork of pieces that don't fit together to make anything truly coherent. My IQ measured when I was in my forties was 165. With ADHD, being bipolar, having SAD and growing up in a situation that didn't function well enugh to be disfunctional, I got 2 years ahead in school and then flunked out of high school in the same class in which Shirley Maclaine graduated. I had never learned to study and felt no real connection to the schools. I finished high school at night and was accepted to college where I proceeded to have a disastrous first semester before finding myself in the army being trained as a high speed radio/radio teletype operator. The two years in the army were the only two years I didn't go to school between 1941 and 1982 but the army provided little to do but get drunk. To that I added a return to reading which I had given up in the 7th grade and began to recover from my childhood so that after being released I was able to find ways of learning that got me through many additional years of school.

From the time I was 5 I took dancing lessons and violin lessons. I never even learned to tune the violin but I did dance in the National Ballet Company for two years.

During my years of school I got an AB and an MS in psychology, a BS in pharmacy, an MBA, and ABDs in psychology, educational research, and applied history and social sciences.

Because of ridiculing the loyalty oath in the 1960s I was harassed by the IRS for ten years with fifteen or more tax audits and I am on no kind of terms with the IRS.

I was refused entry to medical school because of not having a suit, white shirt, and tie but other students in my class who had cheated in organic chemistry were admitted. I refused help from a politically connected man who could have gotten me into almost any medical schol I wanted to attemd. For many years my notion of a physician was someone with a suit who knew a politician, cheated in school, and got worse grades tha I did.
