Heather Doering founded Women Empowered Businesses (WEB) and publishes “Escape From the 9 to 5,” an online magazine dedicated to helping women leave the grind behind. She is a single work-from-home mom who endeavors to equip women with the tools to build successful home-based businesses.

Heather holds a degree in Psychology from Michigan State University, is a certified life coach, and has mentored work from home women for over 10 years. The truck was packed to the brim. The other two trucks accompanying us were also full. We were on our way to a remote lake near Lake Tahoe in Califo ia. We'd been planning this trip for a month but my mate had been talking about it for over a year. Loon Lake was the destination and he wanted to paddle our kayaks across the lake, then camp. That would mean only bringing minimal stuff and I like bringing a lot of stuff to keep me comfortable.

THE PLAN Some of us are inherent planners, while others are inherently spontaneous, fly-by-the-seat of our pants people. Both groups can be wildly successful in direct sales. That being said, it’s vitally important to design a Plan. Your Plan is an overarching guide that keeps you focused, organized, and moving forward along a pre-determined path.
