And then there's the way people's relationship with the I Ching develops, from the very first reading, maybe through taking the I Ching Course or a Class, to a powerful ongoing practice and force for transformation.

Seeing and receiving so much, I know that divination with the I Ching is absolutely not limited to prediction. The old misconceptions about futures writ in stone somewhere, of divination as just 'having your fortune told' so you can sit round passively and wait for it to arrive - these are illusions born of a rationalistic culture, and I'm delighted to play a part in dispelling them.

Divination is a way of understanding the present. That means real understanding, complete awareness: having both the eagle's eye-view down over paths that are branching out before you, and the deer's sense of everything around you in the landscape. It offers a way to engage with your immediate experience - with all its choices and challenges - and see through it to deeper patterns of meaning and purpose.
