How to get started
The desire for self improvement is not for everyone. Take a look around you if you have any doubts. Even though most people would like to change something about their lives, very few take the necessary steps to do so. Are you ready to make improvements to any part of your life? If you're not, maybe now is not the time, everyone lives at their own pace. Even if you're never interested, that's fine too. The choice is yours. But if you have that nagging little voice, that whisper telling you that things could be better and even a glimmer of hope that you could be happier, then continue reading.
1. Pick the one issue that is bothering you the most. For instance, if you've been thinking of changing jobs, losing weight, making changes to your home, or finding the need to socialize more, etc. Pick the one that you would get the most benefit from if the situtation were to improve right now. You can gradually work the other issues in, but go slow at first.
2. Visualize what you want. Know what you don't want, but don't let that linger. Learn to control your thoughts. Let whatever it is you don't want, fade away. When you have a clear idea of what you really want, allow yourself the time and the space to figure out action you need to do to achieve it. And remember, don't be afraid to be unconventional. We knew someone who instead of sending out resumes, got a golf membership at an upscale club where he met someone who helped him get started on his dream career. And although he had some qualifications, there were other people better qualified who weren't on the golf course that day. Credentials are great, but don't get too hung up on them. Think outside the box.
3. Be ready to say yes. Opportunites will start opening up in ways you never imagined when you become focused on the positive. Don't push them away because they're unfamiliar. Stay open to new possibilites.
4. Don't get frustrated if the positive change takes a little longer than you had hoped. Don't give in to anxiety, just continue visualizing and implementing as much positive action as you can.
