Jack Nadel has been an international entrepreneur for nearly seven decades—and has made a healthy profit every single one of those years. He founded, acquired, and operated more than a dozen companies that produced hundreds of new products, thousands of jobs, and millions of dollars in profits, including Jack Nadel International, a worldwide leader in the specialty advertising and marketing industry, and has been voted into the Hall of Fame for Specialty Advertising for his astounding industry achievements.

From his broad and solid foundation of experience, Jack Nadel has authored a number of popular business books including The Evolution of an Entrepreneur, There’s No Business Like Your Bu$iness, How to Succeed in Business Without Lying, Cheating or Stealing, and Cracking the Global Market. All were written with the purpose of assisting others to attain greater business success. He also authored one novel, My Enemy, My Friend, set in the intriguing environment of international trade.

In addition to his commercial enterprises and writing career, Nadel has been a Huffington Post contributor, lectured at colleges and universities, and for several years hosted his own television show, Out of the Box with Jack Nadel.

During WWII, Jack Nadel flew 27 missions over Japan as an Air Force B-29 navigator and was decorated with the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters. Shortly after the war, he began his international business ventures, many of which included conducting business with Japan. In 1988 he was appointed by President Reagan to serve on the Presidential Trade Mission to Japan.

This spring, Califo ia’s governor, Jerry Brown, led a delegation of ninety business leaders on a “trade and investment mission” to China. This type of private-public partnership is a common occurrence for states to expand export opportunities around the world. In fact, three more governors and their delegations from Virginia, Iowa, and Wisconsin met soon after in Beijing. Federal law authorizes such trips and requires full disclosure of private-public partnerships to ensure transparency. Unlike some trade missions, Califo ia’s excursion did not cost taxpayers one dime.

On a daily basis, media headlines announce stories about massive layoffs from major corporations such as Citibank, FedEx, Pfizer and many more. Thousands and thousands of able-bodied workers are losing their jobs. The grim reality is that these jobs are not coming back. It is a simple fact that technology has minimized the number of employees needed in almost every industry. For example, instant communication has rendered the postal service increasingly obsolete. Assembly lines rely more and more on robotics. Internet sales have reduced the need for bricks and mortar facilities.
