Our Shadow Is A Friend
Our Shadow is a Friend We do seem to think of mystery as darkness, as fear. Mystery is interesting to read about but not to experience. Most of us understand that our fears don’t arise from our exte al environment but from within ourselves, our soul. Whether we like it or not, going within reveals our needs that are just beyond our fears. Many of us believe that we can read, study and learn without emotional upheaval and pain. We do the mental exercise of learning about oneself but we don’t feel our pain. Instead we turn on the TV, overeat, over drink, over exercise.

Our Life: Whose Values?
I like to think that I am the designer of my life. However, I have learned that most of my thoughts are programmed by my unconscious mind. I simply replay the same beliefs and values that my unconscious mind downloaded from events that occurred before the age of seven. Of course, as Morty Lefgoe says, it is not the criticism or judgment by our friends, parents, or people in authority, that causes us to be afraid to take risks or to feel that we are not good enough. It is the interpretation we gave to these events.

Insights & Strategies For Writing From Your Heart
We all need inspiration, wait to be inspired. In my experience, it does not arise spontaneously. It demands that we take personal responsibility for finding resources such as counselors, books, workshops, energy workers and self-help groups. It takes strength, openness, willingness and patience to persist. In my writing and personal life, it has taken courage, a willingness to face what we don’t even know yet: how our past has shaped who and where we are. How many of us really know who we are?

"Your beliefs act like filters on a camera, changing how you see the world. And your biology adapts to those beliefs. When we truly recognize that our beliefs are powerful, we hold the key to freedom." Bruce Lipton, Ph.D.

How to get started
We all wait to be inspired, but it rarely arises spontneously. In my life experience, it has taken strength, openness and a willingness to learn about ourselves. It takes a great deal of self-awareness. How has our past shaped who and where we are? Can we recognize negative behavior patterns that are self-defeating? There are resources to help us.
How many of us really know who we are? Do you know your underlying beliefs that trigger your unconscious to make decisions automatically? When did you last ask ourself: What does my heart want? We can quite literally be frozen in time ... held hostage by our past without understanding how it controls our lives.
