Experience and Study Spanning

Three Continents and 6 Countries

It seems that few people today are willing to do what it takes - to make the necessary sacrifices - to seek out the right teachers and experiences - to follow their dreams and get what they need to express their potential in the world.

Jeffrey Miller is such a person.
Jeff's dreams and quest for knowledge have taken him across the United States, into Canada, and to teachers and mentors in South Korea, Japan, England, and, what was previously, West Germany. Today, he introduces his students and clients to the power and freedom of living to one's potential. His vision has become his company's promise:

"To teach clients the lessons needed to create the life they've always dreamed of living and the skills necessary for protecting that life from anything that would threaten it."

Mr. Miller is a 13th degree master teacher in the centuries old Japanese martial arts of Ninjutsu, Budo Taijutsu, and several other ancient armed and unarmed combat methods. He is the creator of the unique EDR:Non-Martial Arts Defensive Training Program, designed for adults seeking "just enough" in the way of basic self-defense. He is also a prolific writer - having published several books and over 300 articles on the subjects of self-defense, martial arts, personal development, parenting, and more; director, and co-producer of the "Danger Prevention Tactics" video. Drawing on his three decades of study and real-world experience, you can put Jeffrey Miller's knowledge and perspective to work in making your life more safe and secure.

This is about a conversation that I had with several of my clients - parents who bring their children to me for self defense training - about several catastrophic workplace violence attacks that occurred practically back-to-back. I'm sharing this story because it demonstrates what I call, "backwards thinking," and how your beliefs about a thing can be the very thing that is preventing you from solving it. This event centers around the unfortunate event that took place at a military post, where a doctor - an officer of the U.S. Army - killed and wounded several soldiers in a fit of rage.

Most people, including karate and so-called self-defense experts really don't know where to start when it comes to mastering the ability to protect yourself against a real-world violent attacker. This article takes a look at the two-fold approach that I suggest for clients who are serious about surviving a street assault. To look at the conventional world of martial arts and self-defense instruction, the conventional approach seems to be to just get a few of skills, receive some cool-looking belt or maybe a certification of some sort, and presto, you're set.

In this article I will be discussing some very important areas of study. These "gates" as they were known in ancient Japan, were the required areas of study for anyone, or any school, professing to be studying or teaching Ninjutsu. Did you know that there was a standard by which the art of ninjutsu was based? Did you know that ninjutsu training, to be considered different from other martial art systems, had to contain, as a minimum, 8 fields of study to be considered authentic?
