I am dedicated to helping families (and individuals) improve their health through optimal nutrition and physical activity through a private practice in nutrition counseling and by sharing practical insights at Feeding Kids and You, and in articles appearing in consumer newsletters. After helping to launch, Childhood Obesity, a peer reviewed journal, my feature column offers inspirational interviews with experts and school leaders who have successfully implemented food and fitness programs in school districts across the country.
And, I spent more than a decade as contributing editor to journal of Women’s Health, for which I prepared a monthly column on health conce s that physicians need to anticipate about their women patients. Columns topics include diabetes, alopecia (hair loss), metabolic disease, osteoporosis, weight management, over reliance on antibiotics, asthma, fitness, integrative medical topics and preventive health strategies.
Whether in person or by writing, my goal is to provide relevant and practical information that can be readily integrated into a person's lifestyle for lifelong health.
I earned a certificate of advanced training in child and adolescent weight management from the American Dietetic Association. I hold a master's degree in nutrition and health communications from Boston University and a bachelor's degree in nutrition and consumer education from the University of New Hampshire.
