I have been a practicing Clinical Psychologist since 1989, and began studying business and marketing seriously in 1994. I started the Relationship Institute of Royal Oak Michigan in 1993, and by applying what I learned about business, I have grown the practice to a thriving institute with 10 licensed psychotherapists.

In 2004 I co-founded Uncommon Practices with colleague Mel Restum, PhD, to help healthcare providers and other service professionals create their ideal practice and business. My journey has been featured twice in Psychotherapy Networker magazine:
