Everyone would like to feel good about themselves in all situations. Self-confidence refers to this good feeling about yourself, your abilities as well as your performance. As the name implies, self-confidence usually comes from within yourself instead of other people. Self-confident people are a force to reckon with. They are admired and respected in the society. Believing in yourself leads to other people believing in you. Some people have low self-confidence. However, like most other skills, it can be attained through learning as well as practice.

Busy people drive me crazy. The whirlwind of their lives, at work and at home, reminds me of a hover craft or a hydrofoil boat – never touching the ground or the water. It’s as if they have permanent ADHD with no medication, and that impairment forces more and more activity just for activity’s sake. Productive people, on the other hand exude a calm determination. They seem to know “where they are going” and how they are going to get there, and their race is slow and steady, like the proverbial tortoise who wins the race. And what does winning the race look like?

Depression is a serious medical condition that can impact anybody. There is no race, ethnicity, age group, or gender that is immune to depression. Although, there is evidence that there is higher rates of depression among certain groups. However, many experts believe that at least some of these differences are the result of certain demographic groups choosing not to seek treatment for this medical condition. In fact, various societal groups deal with depression in different ways.
