A series of what are referred to as mystical experiences (out of the ordinary) called for a need to seek for their cause. In 1975 at 25 years of age and while serving a ten year prison sentence for robbery, that search led to a complete turn around.

Career criminality was abandoned and tearchers and groups were sought. For seven years after being released from prison, there was a weekly attendance to The Gurdjieff Society of Illinois.Gurdjieff and writtings by one of his students, (Peter Ouspensky) were (along with Ram Dass) the first literary points of referrence that served to provide some degree of 'information.'

Later, many books were studied and many became favorites. Among them included teachers like Dr. David R Hawkins, Gary R. Renard, and

A Course in Miracles. Spirit Light Outreach was formed to share these teachings with people, like prisoners, who are unable to access them any other way.

A Course in Miracles for Prisoners

Since early in 2007 the efforts to deliver a message of hope as offered in A Course in Miracles to prisoners have been ongoing. Prisoners have been a pet project for this writer for several reasons. The first of these reasons might be attributed to the personal experience of having served most of a ten year sentence in prison, but the greater reasons have to do with what occurred while there. It was 1974 and I was twenty-four years of age at the time.

Something You Don't See Every Day

From Joe Wolfe I founded the prison ministry known as Spirit Light Outreach. It’s primary function is to share and deliver Course related books to prisoners.
