Swedish Institute,

I believe that the manipulation of qi with needles, guasha, cups, essential oils and herbs can help reset the body’s own ability to heal.

My purpose is to heal people with plants and needles, to heal the breach betwee Mankind and Creation by strengthening our interdependence.

I stress nutrition over medicine, movement over being moved and the transfer of energy in grounded bodywork. I assist you in recovering your own balance through the modalities I practice.

I teach courses in herbal self care and holistic healing.

I seek to educate my patients to take healthcare into their own hands and to use their own abilities to heal.

I have successfully treated patients suffering with such conditions as sciatica, vulvodynia, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, infertility, depression, back pain, asthma, respiratory illnesses, smoking, Morton’srnneuroma, Lyme disease, acne, psoraisis, stroke, cancer, hiccoughing ofrnseveral days standing, earaches, Lupus, fibromyalgia and many other conditions. Using their Chinese medicine diagnosis, in combination with diet, their western medicine if appropriate, herbs and various acupuncture techniques they have found significant relief.

It is almost Spring, depending on where you are in the country. Time to start the annuals and to awaken the garden. Even if your garden is primarily ornamental, you can include medicinal herbs, many of which are lovely. And don’t forget to eat the weeds, once you know what they are and what is safe! If you have a large yard with good sun, you can grow all kinds of things. I would urge you to even convert your lawn or parts of it into a garden of edible and medicinal plants.

The New York Times just published an article indicating that pickle juice (made of salt, vinegar and spices) was helpful at relieving muscle cramps. In a very small trial, 10 men exercised until dehydrated then were electrically stimulated until they cramped, and were given either pickle juice or water. Pickle juice relieved cramps significantly compared to distilled water. The trainers thought that the pickle juice replaced fluids and electrolytes lost during exercise. The researchers thought it was the vinegar.

Pain is a huge topic. Pain can come from trauma, pressure on nerves, from the wear and tear of osteoarthritis, inflammation due to allergens or pollutants that can set off autoimmune reactions, low Vitamin D status, expanding cartilage under weak bones (osteomalacia), retained placentas, stress, anxiety, PTSD, even viral causes. So the first order of business is to get diagnosed, not only by a western MD but by an herbalist or doctor of Auyrveda or Chinese medicine who knows how do pattern diagnosis.

Sexual response is not just about sexuality, it is about overall health. When you aren’t functioning sexually, it is a sign of overall ill health. Sexual response is complex and sexual dysfunction refers to a wide variety of conditions. Because of this you should not go willy nilly into popping herbs, or for that matter Viagra. The herbal treatment of sexual dysfunction depends on a good differential diagnosis. So here are some basic questions.
