Hello, my name is Ken May.

I'm a financial advisor who specializes in College Planning. I work primarily with high school students and their parents to ready the student for college and reduce the amount the parents pay in educational expenses. Some of the ways I assist families include:

  • Rigorous ACT/SAT preparation I can't stress enough the impact these scores have on both the student's ability to get accepted to schools of choice and the amount parents will have to pay for the education. Concise, systematic preparation can raise these scores considerably.
  • Career mapping to narrow a course of study best suited to the student's interests, abilities and career goals. Students focused on a suitable course of study typically get 4 year degrees in 4 years...not 5 or 6.
  • College selection based on numerous factors including appropriate courses, career placement success ratio and financial aid package statistics.
  • Financial aid assistance We research each potential college’s historical financial aid offers for students meeting similar criteria; broken down my type of aid. (What percentage is free aid? Loans? Work/Study?)
  • Assistance with forms Scheduling, completion and submission
  • Asset repositioning can legally qualify the student for additional aid and help higher income parents pay college expenses on a tax-favored basis.

How to get started

I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to further their education. With college costs on the rise, my job is to walk students through the rigors of pursuing that goal and to make it as affordable as possible for their parents. All the best, Ken May
