Ever since I was a little girl I knew my life career would involve helping people. I imagined this human-service career to come in the form of counseling and psychologist.
I remember my mom being a little wary of my dreams of being a psychologist because of the negative stereotype the profession has, I’m sure she had visions of me working with patients in mental institutions or with the criminally insane! I remember telling her that I was going to help “normal people with normal problems.” What I meant was that I wanted to help the average person who was just struggling in life, whether it is with setting goals, or focusing on passions, or finding balance.
Fast-forward 10 years and I was in a counselling job and NOT enjoying it!
I was in an area of my life where I thought I should be happy. I had all of what I thought led to happiness and yet I was struggling.
Then I remembered what I had told my mom years before: “I want to help normal people with normal problems.” I could work with the average person, just looking to “do better” in life--people just like me!
My own feelings of uncertainty, unhappiness and unfulfillment were actually a God-send! I completely gave up fighting them, instead choosing to listen to those feelings, and I learned that they were sending me a huge warning about why I wasn’t happy and fulfilled. I simply need to listen to find out why I felt out of place in my life. When I started to listen, I suddenly got it --follow my passion in life and the rest will settle into place!
I wish to save you a lot of grief and unhappiness by helping you to clear away the factors keeping you from reaching your dream life. Learn from my mistakes, get rid of the negative, and follow that passion!

I am a fan of happiness. I like to read about it, write about it, teach it and live it! Happiness comes easily to me but I understand that that isn't the case for everyone. I've come up with what I think is the exact formula needed. Excitement + Freedom + Joy + Inspiration + Love = Happiness It might look a little complicated, but it really isn't. You can start small and look for small ways to incorporate more of those states into your life. Excitement By excitement, I don't necessarily mean jumping up and down, or heart-pounding situations.

You have that feeling again. You're bored, and irritated all of the time. You are yelling constantly at the kids, and sniping at your husband. You are stressed, and behind on a deadline at work. This is a brand new way to look at weight loss! Until you are willing to take complete responsibility for yourself and your results in life you are going to keep sabotaging yourself and your results. You will continue on the yo-yo weight loss path and eventually give up for good. You deserve better. The secret to lasting weight loss is consciousness. That is it. Inner wisdom, truth, authentic self, intuition, life joy…all of these refer to the same thing: the voice inside your heart, mind and “gut” that guides you quietly, clearly and truly. Your authentic self is completely supportive of you, but you will surely notice when you’re not listening to it. When did you last listen to your authentic self? A limiting belief is something that you falsely believe to be true about yourself and it prevents you from moving forward. A lot of the time you don't even realize that you are operating under false, limiting beliefs since they just seem natural. Many times you would make a decision because it is the rational thing to do, "reality" just dictates how you have to live. For the most part that simply is not true!
