Lakeisha is an author, social worker, motivational speaker, entrepreneur and preacher. Lakeisha knows what it takes to rise from victim to victor growing up in a Christian home. She was raised in Paterson, New Jersey (twenty minutes from Manhattan, New York). Lakeisha excelled academically while being a victim of sexual abuse as a child. The hand of God was upo Lakeisha’s life, enabling her to excel academically despite traumatic life setbacks.
Lakeisha graduated from Rosa Parks High School as a drama major and was honored as valedictorian of her 1999 high school class. Lakeisha was named Who's Who among high school students in 1999. She graduated from Pennsylvania State University with BAs in both political science and psychology. Lakeisha received over 40 awards and recognitions for her academic achievement and community service involvement. Lakeisha was honored by former president Bill Clinton in 1999 for her academic achievement.
Lakeisha developed a passion to help the less fortunate her relationship with God. It wasn't before long that she was called into the ministry as a minister of the Gospel. Upon walking her in calling, she received many attacks in her health. The negative reports of chronic diseases did not deter Lakeisha off her life path nor discourage her. Through the development of a strong-prayer life, the doctors could no longer find a problem with Lakeisha's health. God soon gave Lakeisha a vision for ministry, which includes winning souls for the kingdom, working with families, and developing leaders throughout the world. Lakeisha desires to encourage those who are experiencing hard times to overcome their problems, keep their eyes on their goals, and become the leaders they were predestined to be.
Lakeisha now lives in Chesapeake, Virginia, with her husband Keith. She graduated from Norfolk State University May 2009 with a Master's in Social Work and is currently a doctoral candidate (2012) within the DSL program at Regent University. Lakeisha is the CEO of a nonprofit founded in 2008 named Kingdom Expansion Enterprises Inc. Lakeisha currently is a covenant partner with at Mount Sinai Church in Portsmouth, Virginia. Lakeisha has been listed among Cambridge Whose who for business leaders, a member of Maximize Leaders (under the leadership of Dr. B. Courtney MacBath), and a member of the National Association of Professional Women.

The subject matters for those projects involves a portrait of Lakeisha's life, information on key topics as well as guidance on how to overcome the odds you find yourself against in your personal life, family, job, or in school. These projects will touch the lives of many as we all face difficult trials in our lives. These projects along with short stories and poetry are featured on Lakeisha's empowerment company Power4Life, started in 2009.
Lakeisha's life story proves that your past does not dictate your future. Your age also does not determine your destiny. It does not matter what your life background is composed of, your race, or your age; you have a life purpose. The key to having a successful life is having faith in God and never giving up on your dreams. Everyone has a life purpose. It is up to you to learn it, live it, and love it!

Why Entrepreneurial Leaders Fail in Business
The bible provides direction for those who have ideas for future projects. The idea can be the creation of an invention or a children’s book. In the second chapter of Habakkuk, it states that visions (or ideas) should be written down adequately so that it can be implemented. However, many new entrepreneurs quickly start businesses without devising an adequate plan. The main reason new entrepreneurial leaders fail in their business ventures is inadequate planning. Many established business leaders have expressed what they believe to be the top reasons why businesses fail.

Adolescent Risky Sexual Behaviors
Studies and surveys conducted by professionals have revealed data on adolescents who have had sex and variables that delay the onset of coitus for both males and females. In 2005, 47% of high students had sexual intercourse and 14% of high school students had had four or more sex partners during their life (CDC, 2006). In a youth survey, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (2005) had shown that youth between grades 9 and 12 have been sexually active. GOALS Guidelines on Achieving Life Success (Paperback) (Book) - June 28, 2009
GOALS is a powerful book that can help anyone striving for greatness. GOALS can be used as a guide for one’s journey to self-discovery. The author of GOALS, Lakeisha McKnight, has masterfully presented principles and guidelines on achieving success by knowing one’s destiny, dreams, achieving desires, obstacles to achievement and, yes, goals. After reading GOALS, I have loaned my book to my clients that I counsel on basic life skills, and I am also thinking of presenting GOALS to some of my students who need direction in their lives. GOALS should be required reading for anyone who needs direction, motivation, or simply striving for greatness!
