Lanky Levy was born in 1947 and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa. She matriculated from Northview High School and graduated from Johannesburg Technical College. She married her high school sweetheart Michael in 1967, and they have three children and four granchildren.

Mike and Lanky operated a nursery and landscape gardening company, a scrap metal recycling company and a company that manufactured semi-precious stones, which they exported to the USA. They also exported South African made products to the USA, and in 2000 emigrated to Illinois where they set up a warehouse and fulfillment company, specializing in services for small foreign companies. Lanky has been invited to talk at various seminars and conventions on methods to export goods to the USA, giving expert advice on the pitfalls to avoid and the best methods to use to look for agents and distributors.

She has also written an e-book "Notes from the Gurus" which gives information, tips, strategies, systems and secrets of over 20 famous internet marketing gurus, e.g. Yanik Silver, Ray Edwards, Joe Sugarman, etc. These notes are based on information from webinars that have been collated and put into a quick and easy reference book. Lanky was a competitive athlete, taking up Pistol Shooting in 1976 and was South African Ladies Pistol Shooting Champion for many years, represented the country over 12 times in National and World Cup events, qualified for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, and participated in the Commonwealth Games in Malaysia in 1998. (South African was banned from International sport for 20 years and only re-admitted in 1994)

Lanky also plays golf, and was chairlady and captain of Killa ey Golf Club, South Africa. She participated in provincial and inter-club competitions and was club champion in 1997.

Lanky currently resides in Illinois, USA, and operates Baobab Inc, and Baobabgifts.com, an affiliate internet marketing company. She has written numerous articles and e-books.
