Learning to Enjoy The Holidays No Matter Where You Are
It's the time of year where we are reminded of all we have to be thankful for. For many, this time of year can also be very draining as it sometimes brings forth difficult memories and painful feelings of inadequacy as families come together.

Moving Forward by Letting Go
It's a new year......a time when we all decide to try and live up to those expectations we set for ourselves only to be disappointed yet again by our lack of ability to hold onto our convictions even until the end of January. We are all the same, aren't we? So why do we get so angry with ourselves when clearly we are not alone in our struggles?

Do You Know How Smart You Are?
Do you have any idea how smart you are? I don't mean the kind of "smart" that lands you on Jeopardy or grants you a full ride to Harvard. Sure, this kind of knowledge serves us in ways but I'm thinking of the everyday brilliance that exists within you.....actually, within each of us. I'm talking about intuition.

Who's Irritating You?
He's so irritating! She drives me crazy! I cringe when he walks in the room! I can't even listen to her talk! Does this sound like something you hear yourself saying at times? Is there someone in your life that just pushes your buttons? Is there a person in your family, workspace or circle of acquaintances that you find yourself avoiding because they simply drive you nuts? YOU are NOT alone! This is a very common theme that I hear from both my private clients and those in my workshops. I invite you to consider a perspective adjustment that may change the way you think.

Everything We Do Really Does Matter
Recently, I had a memorable experience at the grocery store, of all places! It was not the store I typically shop at, as it's about 20 minutes from my house, however on this particular day, it was conveniently located on my way home from an appointment. It was the store's busiest day and time of the week so there were at least 8-10 people working at the deli counter. I pushed the button for my number that would determine when it would be my turn to order and fortunately, there were quite a few people ahead of me so I was forced to wait.

Just Breathe
Over the last several months, I've found myself frequently giving away my power by doing a lot more "running around" than usual and I know it's time to re-focus. I don't necessarily mean the running around we do when we're tackling the endless errands or while tending to the high demands of stressful jobs, a home, children and their many activities. Yes, all of that can be challenging, but far more stressful is the imbalance we create in choosing the thoughts we allow to "run around" inside our head's.

How Bright is Your Bulb?
If you ask my family what my favorite question is, they will tell you, it’s, “Who do you choose to be?” Within each of us is the opportunity to live a joyful life. Building positive relationships and being willing to share our unique strengths is one of the ways we shine our own individual light on others. Part of how I hope to instill these values in my children is by constantly asking them how they want to show up in the world. When they behave in a way that doesn’t line up with who they choose to be, it leads me to ask them my next favorite question; “Are you really okay with that?”

Raising Powerful Kids
Most parents share the goal of raising happy, healthy, well-rounded and polite children, but what about confident, compassionate and self aware children? What can we do to create an atmosphere in our homes that encourages our kids to see, hear and correct their own inappropriate behavior without our needing to constantly point it out? How do we foster an environment where they learn to love who they are, as they strive to reach their own personal best?
