I began my training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy in 2009 and have attended almost 50 hours of training through Behavioral Tech and trainers associated with Marsha Linehan, PhD, the developer of this wonderful, evidence-based treatment. I have been using DBT in my work with adolescents and adults in an agency setting as well as in private practice for over three years. I am launching an online DBT skills course called My DBT Online through my website www.changeyouremotions.com in order to make access to skills training accessible to families and those who cannot attend live sessions or who learn well in an online format.
I'm passionate about all things DBT! In my early twenties I experienced problems with emotion regulation (40 years ago now!) and when I began learning about DBT, I realized that the skills taught were many of the same skills that helped me put an end to the anxiety and depressio I had experienced so many years ago. I was hooked! Now I have the pleasure of seeing these skills help my clients build a life worth living for themselves.

Favorite Quotes & Thoughts from Linda Hoenigsberg
"It is never too late to become what you might have been." This quote by George Eliot (whose real name was Mary A Evans) became the catalyst for my decision to enter college at 51-years-old and spending 7 straight full time years becoming a psychotherapist. This was even after being diagnosed with an "inoperable" brain tumor right after graduating with my BA. You can read more about the story of my life at www.lindalochridge.com. There is a free eBook available there called "Becoming What You Might Have Been," a workbook for those who want to take their life as far as they can.
