Lisa C. Decker is a discreet problem-solver and the founder and owner of Divorce Money Matters. Her passion and intense desire to help others has always been her guiding value and the primary reason for adding this service to help her community.
“Throughout my lifetime, I have seen many friends and families go through divorce with lots of questions and not enough answers. Many ended up financially devastated in the aftermath of their divorce. When I learned what a difference a CDFA™ (Certified Divorce Financial Analyst) can make, I knew that I wanted to be able to help others with this specialized knowledge.”
Her work has led her to be interviewed by the media including CNN, Good Morning America, Business Week, The NY Times, Forbes Women’s and Oprah magazines.
Ms. Decker is the current Co-Chair for Visions Anew. Visions Anew is one of the Premier Women’s Divorce Support Organizations in the country with support groups and weekend divorce school retreats that support, guide, empower and encourage women during divorce. Ms. Decker has a unique and varied background with interests and experience in many areas including:
- Nearly 20 years experience in running a successfulconstruction-related business,
- Real Estate Investor,
- Freelance Writer,
- Public Speaker,
- Event Planner,
- Health Educator, and
- Financial Services Advisor.
Diagnosed simultaneously with Breast Cancer and Multiple Sclerosis in 1997, she knew that like all life challenges, this experience was meant for her personal growth and giving back to others.
With a steadfast and determined attitude, she handled the challenge of her illnesses with grace and fortitude. After her recovery, while simultaneously working the family business, she designed, developed, implemented and taught a unique, award-winning breast health program that touched the lives of over 20,000 people.
“I bring a perspective of care and compassion to those I come in contact with because I understand the challenge of being thrown a huge curve ball when going through every day life. I strive to serve as an inspiration to others in showing that you can overcome whatever life throws at you and come out even better on the other side!”
In 2005, Lisa, sold the long held business and moved with her family, from Florida to the Metro Atlanta, Ga. area to start a new chapter in her life. Ms. Decker was quickly sought out and recruited by an international financial services firm.
Transitioning from teaching on matters of health to wealth, Ms. Decker now services clients with the same dedication and care that she brings to all endeavors. Her background and knowledge in this industry, along with her real estate and business background, lend valuable insight that benefits those clients who are now in a life transition of divorce.
Her primary goal as a “save your money save your sanity ™” Divorce Guide and a trusted advisior is to provide powerful knowledge for her clients so that they can make informed decisions today which will enlighten, enrich, and empower their financial future tomorrow.
Ms. Decker has always believed that one person can make a difference in the lives of others and the world and has always been an active community volunteer wherever she has resided.
Recently she was appointed by the City of Kennesaw’s Governor as Vice Chair of the Kennesaw Environmental Committee.
