I help speakers, trainers, consultants and coaches to leverage their knowledge so that they can reach more people, build their business and spend more time with their families.

Together, we build you a book writing business plan that highlights your expertise and creates an overall big picture plan to your business so that you can create a passive stream of income. I combine over 20 years of writing and editing experience, with over 6 years of life coaching to help my clients overcome the challenges, develop content, and write their way to the success they dream about.

This is my passion.

This is my purpose.

Why?

Because I understand life in transition and the work that's required to realize a dream. I'm a mom, author, and entrepreneur. But it hasn't been a simple nor easy road. Sometimes it's been my own choices that I had to learn from the hard way (don't ya just love those?!), sometimes it's been circumstances beyond my control that I've had to find my way through (my mantra in those moments: breathe in, breathe out, repeat), but I've always been one who believes in the possibilities - and works to create them for myself and others.

Let’s create the possibilities together!

I published my book, Who Am I? How to Answer the Single Most Important Question You’ll Ever Ask, in 2008 and in 2009, partnered with Compass Coaching to co-created the Monthly Action Plan™ titled, Rediscover Yourself and am in the process of writing my forthcoming book, The Book Writing Business Plan: How to reach more people, build your business, and spend more time with your family.

I continue to (try to) master the art of turning the challenges of the everyday into meaningful experiences (I'm still human after all), and share the lessons of my journey with others. In my “off” time, I enjoy hiking, reading, cross-stitching, and spending quality time with my two amazing children.

When it comes to achieving our goals, a good place to focus is on our thoughts and feelings about that dream or goal. We need to think about things like: • Why do we want to achieve this goal? • Have we thought through a plan of action on how we’ll get there? • And do we believe we can actually accomplish this goal? These are all great questions that we need to be willing to ask and answer. So, it seems logical that what we think…or don’t…are the biggest obstacles we face in moving forward toward accomplishing a goal or dream. However, that’s not necessarily the whole truth.

Jim Carrey is a name we know and a face we recognize…but he wasn’t always that famous actor. At one time he was a young man with a dream, struggling to make it in Hollywood like so many hopeful unknowns. But he didn’t stay that way. What did he do differently? He made a practice of envisioning his life after he’d ‘made it’ on the big screen. On a regular basis he drove up into the Hollywood Hills and parked his car where he could see the entire city of Los Angeles. Then he would imagine his life on the other side of his dream as if the dream were already complete.

We all know the differences between men and women are like night and day and when it comes to relationships, it’s more of the same. So what’s the main difference between men and women when it comes to deciding to stay in a bad relationship or walk away? I believe that one reason women tend to stay longer than they should is based on a big disconnect between who they really are and what they’ve been brainwashed into expecting.

We all have something we’ve regretted doing – or not doing – in our past. From passing up a fantastic career opportunity to hurting someone’s feelings, experiencing regret is a way for us to learn. It’s part of being human. In the past, researchers identified that the two largest areas of regret for people of all genders, socioeconomic backgrounds, and physical location were education and career. It seems that most individuals feel they could have done something better, more fulfilling, if only they’d taken advantage of opportunities to advance their schooling and career options.

Most individuals will spend their entire life being told that their dreams are something that they can’t do. “There is no way that you can play football with the boys”, or “No one would make you president”, or “You can’t possibly fly planes with all girls in the military”. It’s really hard to hear everyone around you tell you “You can’t”. Can’t is such an ugly word. The more times you hear it, the easier it is to believe the lies that are being told. You have to search for a way to respond to it. Don’t listen to it or any negative thoughts that people say about what you can do.

So you want more in your life…that’s a great place to start. It doesn’t matter if you are dissatisfied with your personal life, the career path you have taken, or something not as easily defined. When you make the decision to move forward in a different, more positive direction, it’s the first step that needs to be taken. The second step is to take control. If you are truly set on experiencing change, you must take control of the factors you can. What Can You Control?

Just about every woman I know is perfectly capable. She’s great at managing her household, being a stable and reliable employee, taking care of her kids, multi-tasking, cooking up a great meal – doing just about anything that needs and has to be done. Why is it, then, that so many women lack confidence?

The term “core values” is one that you will hear quite often, especially by life coaches and counselors. You may also hear them referred to as core beliefs. But what exactly are core values and how you able to determine which are most critical to your health and well-being? Core values are emotionally charged one-word statements (value statements) that engage our hearts and minds and help to define our real Self. The most important ones are different for each individual person; the combination is never duplicated. Core Values Drive Your Life

So you want to make a positive change in your life. But what about the other people important to your life? You don’t live in a bubble. You can’t control what family and friends and coworkers do and say and yet they affect your ability to change what you wish. Luckily, you do have the ability to influence them by how you communicate. In business this is referred to as the art of negotiation. But the same principles apply in your personal life.

Power can mean a lot of different things to different people at different times. It’s a term often used in the corporate world – think of how many times you’ve heard the phrases “power suit” or “purchasing power”. It can also refer to the electricity that fuels our homes or the mechanical energy in a vehicle. But when it comes to people, being power-full is an entirely different concept. The Power to Control

Favorite Quotes & Thoughts from Lori Anne Chance

"You cannot get what you've never had unless you're willing to do what you've never done." ~ anonymous.

I live by these philosophies:

  • I'd rather risk it all and loose than to ever look back and think, "I wish I would have..."
  • I refuse to live with a single regret. If I am able to learn from it, it moves from being a regret into a valuable life-enhancing and potentially empowering experience. Therefore, I choose to learn.
  • The question that drives me in my life is: How might I empower myself and others to live our best possible lives?

Book Writing Business Plan Consulting:

We’ll work together to look into your current business, review the mission and vision of what you’re already doing, and build a plan to leverage your knowledge into taking your business to the next level. You’ll walk away knowing what steps to take, what you’ll need in order to succeed, what topics you’ll be working on developing, and an outline to start writing your next book.

Sometimes, just having a solid plan is all you need in order to make the rest happen. There are times however, when it’s also helpful to have additional support along the way.

Author Coaching:

We’ll work together while you’re writing your book so that you receive the support and guidance you need to complete it. I’ll be there to brainstorm with you, help you through the writer’s block, keep you accountable, help you face and manage any fears or obstacles that come up, challenge your thinking as appropriate and help keep you on track throughout the process.

Having support is a key element to success for any project, especially when it comes to something you’ve never done before. Sometimes though, it’s helpful to have an extra set of eyes on the writing itself as well.

Content Editing:

While you’re doing the hard work of getting it all out, it’s often helpful to have someone who’s reading your work, letting you know what might be missing, what’s working well so that you can do more of it, and how to shape your work in order to avoid major structural changes later. A content editor looks at the structure behind the writing, looks at the form and voice, looks at how something is said and whether or not the author’s message is truly getting through, as well as what’s working and what’s missing from the text. With over 20 years of business writing and editing experience, I love content editing. It’s fun to see an author’s voice rise to the surface and watch their message take shape.

While it’s often helpful to work with someone while you’re developing the manuscript, I know that sometimes the first draft gets done before we begin seeking for help with the next step.

Nonfiction Manuscript Review:

If you’ve been writing for a while and would just like someone to take a look at your manuscript, I’m happy to do that as well. It can be partially or fully complete. I’d be acting as a content editor not a line editor, focusing on structure, voice, flow, whether or not it connects with the intended audience, and when possible, may provide some suggestions on how you can use the content to build your business.

While my services are designed around the development of a book, I have had clients use my services is creative ways. For example, they’ve chosen to use coaching to overcome the internal fears of writing their blog, or using the content editing services to have another pair of eyes on their blog, ebooks, or articles. And clients often use two or more of the services together to create their own, customized package that fits their current needs. My commitment is to your success.
