Lynne A. Hoft, Ed.D. is a national award winning licensed teacher/administrator and certified trainer. She excels at program and curriculum development. For 20 years Lynne has focused on creating and testing curriculum and programs which allow youth and adults to learn the principles for creating brilliant lives.

She is a partner with Vivian Hildebrandt in their company, Back to Brilliance. Together they have co-authored a new book, Activate Your Brilliance: 12 Keys to the Art of Living Happy They have co-authored several teleclasses, seminars and home study programs which “stop stress”, develop a mindset for success, and assist clients to create happy, fulfilling lives. Lynne and Vivian also collaborate on articles, e-books, reports and a free weekly E-zine, “The Ultimate Treasure”. They recently started a new blog, "Back to Brilliance", where

Have you ever asked yourself, is stress normal? Does stress just happen to us? Can we eliminate it? To answer these questions, we must understand what stress is. In most situations, stress is a negative feeling showing us that we are attached to our thinking. Like all feelings, stress is a messenger, letting us know whether we are in our center and experiencing our brilliance or spinning in our thought patterns.

Stress is a feeling. It gets mixed in with anxiety, worry, concern, and other unhappy feelings. Because these feelings range from discomfort to serious pain we often try to avoid recognizing and dealing with them. Culturally we’re taught to look outside of ourselves for a remedy to these uncomfortable feelings. We might anesthetize ourselves with a few drinks, with a buying spree, with TV or computer games, drugs, sex or any number of other feel-good “cures”.

We live in a world where “stressed out”, “multi-tasking”, and “exhausted” seem to be an accepted way to live. It is considered the norm to have one or all of these problems some or most of the time. Living life this way has its down side: relationships suffer; all of the demands put upon us create tension and even anger; and we lower our standards in order to complete our to-do list.
