Maimah Karmo

Maimah Karmo is an author, activist, coach and motivational speaker. Her goal is to help people live their best lives, and to empower women and men by connecting them and closing the gap on things that separate. As a breast cancer survivor she is committed to educating women of all ages around the world about breast cancer; and empowering them to celebrate their lives every day by harnessing their personal power.

How Breast Cancer Saved My Life: Using A Challenge as a Gift, her most personal work to date, is a story of facing challenges, overcoming them and thriving because of them. A native of Liberia, Maimah fled to the United States in 1989, after a brutal coup d'etat tore her country apart. At 32 years old, after re-building her life, just when she thought life was normal again, Maimah was diagnosed with breast cancer. She watched as her entire life fell apart...or so it seemed. Through this very challenging ordeal, she found herself and discovered a fortitude and peace she had never known. Through this challenge, she also found her purpose in life.
