Baby Boomers are entering into a new world: PLANET RETIREMENT. Dr. Bruno provides information ("know what") and expertise ("know how") to help Boomers navigate through transition issues. So many people ask about the name of my domain, “Gynosapiens.” What does it mean? It simply means “Thinking Woman.”

I instinctively associate myself and my work with this definition. From as far back as I can remember, I knew that my pattern of thinking was simply different than that of most people -- “Homo sapiens” – the Thinking Man. When I was a pre-schooler, observing my brilliant older brother, I was amazed by the empirical way he reached conclusions. Unable to keep up with this wiz kid by conventional logic, I found myself beating my brother to the same conclusions by what my brother called the “quantum leap.”

I describe this “quantum leap” as intuition, the ability to “see” the answer without necessarily being able to explain why. Over the years, I have seen, foreseen, envisioned, and concluded many things that were not evident to anybody else until years (and even decades) later. I have not stopped learning and earning credentials in many disciplines, dramatically augmenting my insights.

My theory on "Gyno sapiens" goes as follows: Projecting back in time to prehistoric days, Gyno sapiens was the “missing link” – a woman with survival skills based on foresight, intuition, and ingenuity that compensated for her natural physical weaknesses. Her genes contributed to advance Neanderthal Man to Thinking Man. I am certain that some day, an anthropologist will discover Gyno sapiens and identify the genes that are today recessive in all of us, giving us the ability to look at things differently, foreseeing future outcomes thanks to a quantum leap.

AND MEN: This is not only a woman thing. There is some Gyno sapiens in us all!
