He was a clinical hypnotherapist in the mid-seventies, also performing comedy-oriented "hypnosis shows" in nightclubs, on college campuses and other venues. He was a Charter Member of The American Hypnosis Association and member of the Hypnotists' Union Local 472. Mark no longer offers hypnosis sessions, or performs as a hypnotist publicly.

Mark smoked for sixteen years, but has been a true non-smoker for over thirty years now. He is the author and publisher of the internationally best-selling book, "How to Quit Smoking Without Willpower or Struggle", now being used in every state in the USA, and over fifty countries outside of it.

Favorite Quotes & Thoughts from Mark Whalen

We cannot change the past, but we can change the way we remember it, and how those memories affect our lives today.

People who desire to quit smoking must realize this; smoking is not the problem, only the symptom of it. The problem is wanting to smoke. Any serious smoking cessation program must focus upon that issue, not on the behavior that it creates.
