Mary Jane Mapes, founder of The Aligned Leader Institute, a management consulting and leadership development organization, has been helping individuals and organizations awaken potential and ignite performance for over twenty years. Working with thousands of people annually throughout the United States and Canada, she has helped thousands of organizations build employee morale and commitment, increase employee retention, generate more sales, develop customer loyalty, and achieve business goals. Among her clients she includes such organizations as Duke University Medical School, Novartis Animal Health, Auto-Owners Insurance, Avon Products, Inc., Western Michigan University, the Defense Logistics Services Center, the USPS, AA&M, Lear Corp., Dana Corp., Kmart Corp., Blue Cross Blue Shield, and numerous associations, manufacturers, healthcare, education, and governmental organizations. Mary Jane is a past president of the National Speakers Association - Michigan Chapter, and is one of a small number of women worldwide to have earned the prestigious CSP, Certified Speaking Professional, designation granted by the National Speakers Association for excellence in the field of speaking. She is one of only three recipients to have been honored with the Charles Leadership Award from the National Speakers Association - Michigan Chapter for outstanding leadership.

Mary Jane is the author of the book, The Art of Fielding Questions with Finesse, numerous published articles on the subjects of leadership development, customer service, and interpersonal communication, audio/video learning albums, and a quarterly newsletter, The Aligned Leader journal.
