And over 20% of our Canadian youth between the ages of 12 and 17 are also considered to be overweight or obese. So obviously, we as a country need to lose a few pounds if only for our own health and our futures. I’m not saying Canadians are fat to be mean, but let’s be honest, 50% is a pretty high percentage which we can and need to do something about. It’s our kids that will pay the price if we don’t do something about this now.
