Michelle and Richard Laidlow Quick Facts
Eight years ago we created the successful Triathlon Training Base “Le Sancture des Sportifs”, where we live and work today. Richard Laidlow has been immersed in triathlon for over 22 years and coaching for over 15 of those, he is a qualified BTA and British Cycling Coach, who also has vast knowledge and expertise gained as an elite athlete, competing for his country in both swimming and triathlon. Previously an RAF Physical Training Instructor he was part of the relay team who broke the world record for the Belgium to England Channel crossing (plus numerous other channel swims), and gained additional practical and theoretical knowledge as a lecturer in Sports Science and YMCA qualified personal trainer. With his wife Michelle Laidlow (BA (Hons), MA(Ed), PGDip, they are able to offer Triathletes of all levels, alll year round Triathlon Training Camps, Expert Personal Coaching and Tailored Triathlon Traiining Plans.
They both compete regularly in all three disciplines. Michelle is the President and Richard is the Head Coach of "Triathlon Catalan".
So they are well positioned to help you achieve your Triathlon goals no matter how tough you think they are!

Triathlon camps and how to chose one.
As triathletes we are often looked at as slightly mad by those who aren't – questions like “you do what?” and “for how long?” - often followed by “why?” The last being an excellent question and one that is worth considering yourself. However for now – let's think about what it's like to be an athlete often confronted with these questions with no-one nearby offering support.

Well done you are the proud owner of a coach……..
Great, you googled/got a recommendation/went through your triathlon club/went on a triathlon training camp, or whatever and you are now the proud owner of a triathlon coach! So erm what do you do with them!? As a coach, we know our role – we provide a training plan based on your initial questionnaire/consultation that has sessions including details of pace/heart rate/power output/distance/time/splits/recovery. We also offer advice on races/realistic goals /race strategy/fueling/equipment/technique and how to have a positive mindset.

“Training Camp!” what was I thinking?
What to expect! You did it, instead of going on a ‘typical’ holiday you decided to do something healthier and signed yourself up for a week of triathlon training. Some of your friends think you are totally mad and wonder why you don’t want to simply laze on a beach somewhere, others think it is an interesting idea and those who are into sport themselves think it is awesome! It is awesome and you’ll love it.
