It has never been more apparent than on the recent episode of, The Biggest Loser. Not only did 1 contestant head to the hospital, but 2 contestants. I don't watch the show, I refuse to, but I have clients fill me in and I read the recap on various websites.

Growing up, Halloween was my favorite time of year. Since my dad was a dentist, it was the only time of year that I was allowed to eat all the candy my trick-or-treat bag and stomach could handle. I looked forward to Halloween the way some people look forward to birthdays: some cherish the presents, for me it was the Snickers®. Although my children are all grown and way past trick-or-treating, I have great memories of dressing them up, going from house to house. The highlight, of course, was helping them sort candy. No, I just suffer from ankle fat and I'm dying to get rid of it, any ideas? O.K. where was I, right, the plethora of post holiday weight loss ads.

I know I've probably mentioned in my previous posts, but here it is again, if I wasn't a personal trainer, I'd be a chef. There is nothing that brings me greater joy (next to motherhood and training of course!) than creating a meal for family and friends. I believe that creating an amazing meal ...

It seems as though Rush Limbaugh’s battle of the bulge has created some pretty imaginative scapegoating. A couple of weeks ago, Limbaugh came out and said that thanks to “exercise freaks” our health care system is stressed. He cited that those that exercise and involved in activities such as soccer, baseball, mountain bike, running, etc.

It's been said that unless an issue affects you directly, you often don't pay attention. When it comes to weight topics, I'm usually the first in line to hear what's being said and quick to offer my perspective. This past week, I was in Califo ia for a health and fitness conference. As I was getting myself ready to lecture to a group of fitness professionals, I was watching morning television.
