EFT is magic! Okay, maybe it's not actually magic, but the results are so amazing that it's hard to remember that. EFT has had a profound affect on my life. I had been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and osteoarthritis. I was in pain every minute of every day. I was taking prescription painkillers daily, and stronger painkillers nightly. Even, so I had bad days, and sometimes really bad days. Thanks to EFT, I am now virtually pain free. No more of the daily misery of struggling just to do normal tasks. No more prescription painkillers.

Do you present a confident face to the world, while in your heart of hearts you feel like you’re not really good enough? Maybe that means not good enough at your job, maybe it means not a good enough mother or wife, maybe it just means not a good enough person. Whatever your feelings of inadequacy relate to, know that EFT can help you change how you feel about yourself, so that the confident face you present to the world becomes your true face. Often there are childhood issues related to not feeling that you’re good enough.

Limiting beliefs are universal. No matter who we are, or what we’re doing, it’s always a bit hard to step outside of our comfort zone. Doing something new and different can be intimidating. Even if it’s something that we want with every fiber of our being, there can be things holding us back from achieving what we want. This is a perfect time for folks to listen for those tail enders.

Headaches…we all get them, and they’re not much fun. Often our headaches are a result of stress, anxiety, anger, frustration and other negative emotions.

Spiders. Roaches. Ants. Worms. Snakes. Lizards. If all the hair on the back of your neck is not standing up now, you’re probably in the minority. There just aren’t that many people who like creepy, crawly things. There are the insect collectors, and the snake lovers and people who just adore spiders, but for most of us, myself included, those critters are all pretty low on our list of favorite things. Although I don’t love creepy, crawly critters, I can honestly say that I’m not normally scared of them either. My daughtersnake is a snake love who kept a pet python for years.

Lots of us live with work related stress. I did for a very long time. I didn’t handle it well. I seemed to be in a constant state of upset, as my high stress job impacted on my life and on my emotions. My boss was a jerk, my deadlines were unrealistic, and I was only noticed if I screwed up. Not a pleasant way to exist. When I could no longer stand the unending stress and accompanying headaches (and lets not forget the crying binges) I started looking around for a magic bullet. No more talking therapy. I’d been there and done that and found it totally ineffective.

Recently I had one of those experiences that we probably all have from time to time, but wish we had skipped it. I pulled a muscle, and anyone who has done that knows how painful it can be. I’ve done it before, so I knew immediately what was wrong, but the thought of dealing with a lot of pain for days didn’t appeal much to me. The last time I pulled a muscle, it was in my chest, and every breath that I took hurt. The pain was so bad that it scared me, and I saw my doctor.

I’ve been working with adoptees for nearly 20 years now, and I thought I had heard pretty much every regret there was to hear from an adoptee, but yesterday I heard one I hadn’t heard before, and it caused me to feel a profound sadness. An adoptee contacted me about scheduling an EFT session, and on my intake form she said that one of her biggest regrets was having been born.

I am birthmother to a 41 year old son. Back when I was pregnant with him, mine was a shameful secret, because only “bad girls” got pregnant. I’m happy to say that the world has changed a lot in that respect. Girls who become pregnant today face a very different set of problems tha I did. Many girls today even chose to keep and raise their children, an opportunity that was not imaginable 40 years ago. Over the last 18 years I have gotten to know many birthmothers who relinquished their children in the sixties and seventies.

Divorce is traumatic. Having been through it personally, I can speak to the fact that even if you are ending a terrible marriage, there is still trauma and grieving. You may not be grieving the reality of your marriage, but rather grieving the death of all your hopes and dreams..what you hoped your marriage would become. When I ended a twelve year disaster of a marriage with divorce, I never expected to feel anything except relief that it was finally over with. I was shocked and dismayed to find that I felt a deep sadness over what my marriage might have become and never did.

Rejection. It’s a word that nobody involved in an adoption search wants to think about. Unfortunately, rejection is something that every searcher needs to consider. It happens. It’s terribly sad for all conce ed, and can emotionally deeply wound the person being rejected, but it is one of the possible outcomes of any search. Having personally been through a 7 year search myself, and having held the hands of hundreds of searching adoptees and birthmothers, I know how common it is for searchers to say that they’re prepared for any outcome in their search.

Being a birthmom myself, this is an issue that is near and dear to my heart. I spent many years feeling that I did not have the right to search for my son. When the social worker at the adoption agency told me that by signing the relinquishment papers I was giving up my right to ever have my son in my life again, I believed her. Emotionally, I tucked my son away in a corner of my mind, and only acknowledged him when he snuck out for birthdays, holidays or other special occasions.
