Bringing Knowledge and Compassion to the Birthing Place

As a Certified Labor Doula, I support expecting parents through their prenatal, pregnancy and immediate postpartum periods. I am honored to be by their sides in the throws of delivering as they transition to parenthood.

As a Certified Childbirth Educator, I have the pleasure of educating these families prenatally... giving them a voice in their birth. Education is the key to a birth with no regrets. Emphasis on a "normal birth", with no routine interventions.

As a Certified Lactation Educator, these families are learning the benefits of breastfeeding, they receive support and resources should breastfeeding become challenging, so that they have long term breastfeeding success.

As a Certified Happiest Baby Educator, I have the honor of teaching expectant families the Dr. Harvey Karp method of triggering their babies calming reflex. Showing them the 5 S's gives them a tool to reach for should their baby have fussy periods. Striving to get the "colic" label off of new babies and hopefully preventing postpartum depression and shaken baby syndrome.

As a Labor Doula Trainer (for CAPPA), I am starting women off on their new jou eys as business owners. They learn the skill of becoming an intricate part of a birthing team and how to support families (physically, emotionally and educationally) during the birth of their baby or babies. Research has shown that by having a doula present for birth, labors are shorter, routine interventions are less, greater breastfeeding success and fewer cesarean rates.
