From Fiery Trials to Abundant Life
I became a handicapped person several years ago on the 2nd day of March. It began as almost any other day of the week—busy and full of expectations. It was Thursday; oh good, we were getting close to the weekend. I sat at the breakfast table that morning with my son, Ryan, talking about school and his upcoming baseball game to be played that evening. My husband, younger son and I would be attending, of course—we never missed one—even though the game was going to be played a couple of hours away.

The Invitation To Know Thyself
Many times I make suggestions that I believe lead to life success. One very important success-tion is to KNOW THYSELF as was quoted by Socrates. And Benjamin Franklin said something similar when he said, "Observe all men; thy self most."

Are you a Duck or an Eagle?
Are you a Duck or an Eagle? What’s the difference you may ask? Well, ducks quack and complain, but eagles soar above the crowd. Author and speaker, Harvey MacKay, tells a great story about a cab driver who decided to soar like an eagle. And, if we will take the lessons provided in this story and apply them to our lives, we too, can soar like eagles.

SIX SIMPLE SUCCESS HABITS
Milton Berle said, “I’d rather be a could-be if I cannot be an are; because a could-be is a maybe who is reaching for a star. I’d rather be a has-been than a might-have-been, by far; for a might-have-been has never been, but a has-been was once an are.” What a profound statement that embodies attitude, choice, and a journey towards success. The old cliché, attitude is everything, is true with regard to our choices and our success.

10 SUGGESTIONS FOR A MORE PRODUCTIVE YOU
Recently I received an e-mail that included suggestions for living life (author unknown). The e-mail made me think about attitudes and people skills that increase productivity. Here are my thoughts in a beginning list of ten suggestions. 1. Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully. Under promise and over deliver. 2. When you give something to someone, expect nothing in return. No expectation means no disappointment. 3. Remember to respect yourself, respect others, and take responsibility for what you say and do.

It is important to note that finding balance in life involves knowing yourself and what’s important to you, then making choices and establishing plans accordingly.

Dumping the Demons Within: The Voice Villain or Villainess
Years ago, there was a television cartoon program that some of you may remember. Snidely Whiplash or Dastardly Whiplash was the villain who constantly concocted elaborate schemes and taunted Nell, the damsel in distress, by doing things like tying her to a railroad track. It was up to the good guy, Dudley Do-Right, to save Nell. Dudley Do-Right was an officer of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and he always knew the right things to do and say to foil the scheme and come to the rescue. Physically, the wicked villain, was slightly hunched over and had an exaggerated nose and chin.
