Robert Pedersen Quick Facts

Okay if you're wondering how in the world a person could call themselves a "Communicating With God" expert you're asking a great question!

I've spent my whole life in search of God. For the greater part of my life I accepted the pre-packaged versions of God that were handed to my by parents, ministers and friends.

Eventually those failed me and I'm the sort of person who has to find out why and how. So my search intensified and simplified to the point of letting go of nearly all my previous notions of God - and then an amazing thing happened!

God spoke to me! Does this make me an expert? Nahhh. No more than you. I'm not unique but if you're looking for God and can't seem to communicate with Him, I may be able to help through my website and free course.

Forgiveness is a huge topic - one that deserves some study. How to forgive another, how to forgive yourself and even how to forgive God are conce s that we don't often discuss but at some level we're all wrestling with the subject of forgiveness. It becomes an even bigger issue when you think about receiving forgiveness. Are you really forgiven? Many struggle with feeling like their sins are not forgiven and that's a terrible place to live.

There are so many ideas about Grace in the world today - and all serve those who believe them. Christianity has complicated the concept of grace - much as it has done with all the doctrine of Christ. Fortunately the teachings of Christ are simple and if we seek the simplicity of Christ, the doctrine of Christ is revealed to us free of the obfuscations of men. While I appreciate you reading what I have to say about grace, I want more than anything for you to develop your connection with God so that you will receive your own understanding.

When the subject is: Communicating with God, "How do you know when you're hearing God's voice?" is the most often asked question. Perhaps you've been praying or meditating and you sense you're hearing God's voice - but you're not sure - how do you know? I suppose we'd all like definitive answers all the time. In spiritual matters it doesn't always work that way. There is a reason for this. In our human/physical way of thinking we only see a few of the options available.

How do you know when you're hearing God's voice? Perhaps you've been praying or meditating and you sense you've heard God's voice - but how do you know? I've been asked "Is God's voice a thought or an actual voice that we hear?" I'm not going to place limits by saying God's voice is one or the other or only these. I will say that I've personally experienced both. The thoughts are more common for me. It may be that I'm just too uncomfortable hearing voices! I mean people are thought to be crazy for that right?

How do you actually communicate with God? This question brings up another for me - is it anything like communicating with another person? Yes indeed. The skills we use for communicating with God are the same ones we use for communicating with each other. So what defines good, effective communication? Great communication is a two-way street right? I mean communication isn't too great if you're doing all the talking!

One of the greatest challenges in communicating with God is stilling your mind. You may ask "What does stilling your mind have to do with communication with God"? Here's the thing. We all have ideas about God. We have expectations about God. We expect ways in which God shows up, speaks, works, moves, etc. These expectations are the result of religious training, societal training, and parental training.

Hearing God's voice is the desire of many - but few seem to feel that it's their personal experience. Why is God's voice so difficult to hear? Or is it? There are some verses in 1 Kings 19 - I encourage you to read the entire chapter to get a feel for the context - but I'll paste in a portion that helps us understand a little about God's voice. IKings 19:11-12 11 And he said, Go forth, and stand upon the mount before the LORD.
