Robert Slater

Robert Slater, LCSW-R, Received his Masters in Social Work from Marywood University in Scranton, PA., where he ws a member of the Alpha Lambda National Honor Society. He founded Copeland Ave Associates (now Copeland Ave Counseling, PLLC) in 2004 after providing therapy in residential programs, school settings and privately for over a decade.

After working in these different settings, he came to realize the importance of atmosphere and ambiance in the comfort level of his clients. He desired to create a professional and warm thereaputic environment where individuals, couples and families could come to address issues that interfere with their quality of life.

Robert works with individuals, couples and families. His focus populations are adolescents and adults, he has received advanced training in work with traumatic stress, anxiety and dissociative disorders. He has been priviledged to provide trainings to other Human Service professionals (caseworkers, teachers and therapists) on these issues.

He is a member of several professional organizations, the National Association of Social Workers, International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation, the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing International Association (EMDRIA). Robert is a member of the ISSTD Board of Directors and is a Certified EMDR therapist.
