"This bulb has a very nice, warm look to it. The package says 450 Lumens, not 400. Note that the description says that it will replace a 60W DOWNLIGHT. That is pretty much correct, because the light dispersion is mostly in one direction. This would be good for ceiling locations where you don't want much light going up, or in cans. I put this in a difficult-to-access outdoor fixture (not a moist location) and it looks very good. "The Lighting EVER 7 bulb is, in my opinion, as good or better than a standard Edison light bulb. I am using the bulbs in all of my reading lamps and a more powerful model to light my garage. The secret to current LED designs is to put them in overhead lamps with the bulb base facing down. The light from the bulb directs from the top. Overhead lamps and and "in wall" fixtures (with out covers) work very well. If you plan to phase out your CFL's do not get standard lamps with the bulb facing up (unless you want to illuminate your ceiling). Over the past year I have broken two CFL's when I accidentally knocked over a table lamp. In a great twist of irony I purchased an overhead lamp for my LED from Targot. The package included a "free" CFL. The genius who packaged the box put the CFL next to the 10 pound base of the lamp. The CFL was broken and I will have to return it to Targot. They can keep it. My Lighting EVER's will never break and they will possibly last for the rest of my life."
