Runner, cricket coach, martial artist and published author, Roy has over 25 years experience in competitive sport and has spent the last 10 studying performance enhancement.

Like many of us, he often had annoying injury problems, coupled with backache and fatigue, but thought they were just ‘normal’. Until, that is, he realised he was actually causing them himself. Conventional therapies would work temporarily but only as long as it took for him to repeat the same injury-causing habit.

After developing better movement through the Alexander Technique, he began to enjoy sport again and gave up a career as a business analyst to complete his three year full-time training to teach the Technique.

Roy works with people from many different sports and activities teaching The Alexander Technique to help promote health, fitness and personal development through sport and physical activity. Roy is available for one-to-one sessions, group workshops and bespoke corporate programs. His latest book 'Golf Sense' has received critical acclaim from both players and coaches.

The Alexander Technique is a method that has a lot to offer golfers. Sports Psychologists will tell you that a confident golfer is much more likely to succeed than one who lacks it. If you think positively, you'll get positive results in your golf. But what exactly is confidence and how do you attain it? When does confidence turn into complacency? Can you fake it or fool yourself into being confident? Confidence is about knowing you have the skills to achieve the task in hand without being unreasonable about your objective. Being realistic about your objective doesn't necessarily mean you're being negative.
