Hi, my name is Sandy, and I’m the Clinical Director at Toronto's Mindful Solutions Clinic. I am a Registered Psychotherapist, Clinical Hypnotherapist, Life Coach, Mindfulness Facilitator, and Shamanic Healer.
I provide solution-focused psychotherapy and coaching that is primarily grounded in the practice of mindfulness and acceptance based strategies. I believe that you already have the inner wisdom needed to achieve your wellbeing and happiness; my role is to shine a light on your strengths, and guide you through a process of self-inquiry that will increase your insight, and help you feel more empowered to make lasting, positive changes in your life.
I have experience working with adolescents and adults who are faced with a variety of life’s challenges – like depression, anxiety, trauma, and day-to-day stress. Other clients I’ve worked with have sought help with me regarding their sense of self-worth, life purpose, life transitions, family conflict, vocational stress, or spirituality. Whatever the challenge that you’re currently facing, my general approach in working with you is one of acceptance, collaboration, openness, and most of all compassion. I am fluently English and French bilingual; and I work with adults of all ages, cultures, races, economic backgrounds and sexual orientations.
I live and work in the busy "hustle and bussle" of downtow Toronto, where it always seems like everyone is on the metaphorical treadmill of a go-go-go lifestyle. I firmly believe in the body-mind connection, and as such, I am committed to my personal daily mindfulness practice of 10+ years. My daily meditation practice, coupled with my conscious decision to embody everyday mindfulness - both personally and professionally - are keys to my sense of overall life satisfaction.

I love my dog. I love him so much, I call him my son. Happy is a 1 year old fluff ball of energy – all 10.2 lbs of him! He’s playful, funny, sweet and gentle. He loves to cuddle and get belly rubs. Whenever I hold him in my arms, he goes right for my face (and my earlobes in particular), and licks me with all his might. He also loves it when I plant sweet little kisses on his neck. He’s a ham. Have I mentioned that I love him? I wasn’t always a dog love though. In fact, I used to be deathly afraid of all animals.

Contemplating a career change?
I recently read an article online that stated the average person will hold between 7 to 10 jobs in a lifetime. Clearly, most people make many career changes during their working lives. This is pretty significant. Yet my coaching clients will often lament that they feel stuck in careers that no longer satisfy them, believing that they have no choice but to remain in roles that physically and emotionally drain them because they must “lie in their own beds”. After all, they’ve got bills to pay and need a steady paycheck.
