Recently featured in the NY Times and quickly becoming recognized as the face of mainstream meditation, Sarah McLean, director of the Sedona Meditation Training Company, inspires seekers worldwide to "take time out for time in" through meditation.
Phoenix Woman magazine calls Sarah, "an inspirational and dynamic teacher." She is certified and recommended by Dr. Deepak Chopra, and she recently won the 2008National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Entrepreneurial Excellence Award.
Sarah's experience is vast - along with her 18-year meditation practice, she was the founding education director of Deepak Chopra's mind-body health center, directed Byron Katie's School for the Work, and assisted Seat of the Soul author, Gary Zukav. She was even a medic in the US Army who treated soldiers for post-traumatic stress disorder. She was one of the founding directors of Sustainable Arizona, a non profit organization that teaches people how to build green, and is a trustee on the board of Keep Sedona Beautiful.
She has explored world spiritual and cultural traditions: she's been a 2-year resident in a Zen Buddhist monastery, lived in an ashram in India, taught English to Tibetan Buddhist nuns, went to school in Dijon, France, bicycled along the silk route through Pakistan, and trekked the golden triangle in Asia.
Sarah distills her diverse experiences and perspectives and has created self- awareness and meditation programs offered through the Sedona Meditation Training Company to make it easy for anyone to learn and experience the benefits of meditation. Sarah’s expert teaching helps to facilitate 'ah-ha moments' for her students in classes, workshops and retreats throughout Arizona.
Sarah has a regularly featured on television. She has a regular segment on AZ Family’s Your Life A – Z, and is a frequent guest on AZ TV’s AM Arizona.
