Well the easy answer, is safety. In a relationship you want to feel safe and confident with your partner. Acceptance is Paramount
When people say they “accept” someone, what does that mean? Do they agree with what the other person believes? Have they seen something within the other person that proves their worth? It’s a complicated question for sure, but usually, it doesn't just mean in general, but instead regarding a specific part of that person. It means that something little, something deep within, has been recognized and approved. As a result, that person is “accepted” for being something special.
