I have been described in the press as a real life example of an impassioned visionary. I began my career at age nine when I opened my first lemonade stand and a backyard carnival. Throughout my childhood I was inspired by the successful business folks I met. I used this early education as a foundation when I started my first of many unique and interesting entrepreneurial ventures at age 19.

I have changed my career direction several times over my lifetime which led to my presentations on bouncing back and adjusting to change.

As an advocate for equal access for those with disabilities, both in physical environments and digital platforms, such as websites, I speak at legal and disability conferences and web design workshops. I educate on Web Accessibility for businesses and train web designers how to do it correctly.

As a best selling author I am quoted often. One of my quotes was voted to be included in the Top Healthy Thoughts of 2007.

I work with select charitable organizations that assist young people with their career options and those that are inclusive and support equal rights for the disabled.

National Women's Friendship Month first began as National Women's Friendship Day in 1999 (celebrated the third Sunday in September each year). Following the 10th anniversary of National Women's Friendship Day in 2008, it became apparent that one day just wasn't enough, so the celebration was expanded to the entire month of September beginning in 2009. "All women find strength, comfort and inspiration from their girlfriends," said Melanie Schild, Executive Director of Kappa Delta and the brains behind the creation of the celebration.

At a conference this year, I heard many self employed and small business owners lamenting how hard they were working, yet not gaining any new business growth or profit. In today’s business environment many emerging entrepreneurs mistakenly attempt to wear all the hats when running their business. Instead of hiring someone to conduct some of the work for them, they mistakenly believe that they are saving money by doing everything themselves.

Earlier this year, a client expressed excitement that Oprah, the woman who has everything, was going to admit that even she couldn’t lose weight and keep it off. I didn’t know what Oprah was going to say during her January show about her weight and living her best life. I only know what is true – right now - in my life, or in some cases my clients’ lives. I can relate to a client struggling with weight loss.

When you start to focus on what you desire – YOU WILL CHANGE! “Things do not change; we change.“~ Henry David Thoreau ~ As you start to focus on what you desire – your behaviors will begin to change. And as you begin to reach your goals and receive your desires – you will change. If your desire is to have more money, and you focus on having that, you will change – you will find yourself behaving with more ease of spending as your money increases. You will begin to think and act with more confidence that you will continue to receive the money you desire and deserve.

“You can tell a person, not by what they say they are gratitude for, but how they respect what they claim to be grateful for.”rn~ Mrs. Donna Priscott~ My mother was of my greatest examples on how to live life with honesty and integrity. This quote was one of her favorite sayings. Long after her passing, I remember every time she said it to me. She wanted me to learn that people don’t just see what I say, they learn who I am by how my actions match my words.

"Common sense is a collection of prejudices acquired by age 18."rn~ Albert Einstein ~ We all have a number of premature cognitive commitments, often referred to as common sense, opinions, and erroneously as facts, which were created in childhood. These early beliefs about reality actually shape our perception and subsequent experiences. Where did you get yours? Most of us adopted our opinions from parents, teachers, media, friends and religious leaders.

My grandfather was one of the most positive influences in my life as a small child. I shared the most special times with him before he passed on before my eleventh birthday. He believed that Laughter is always the best medicine. My Grandfather was diagnosed with cancer and heart disease and spent his last few weeks in a small bedroom with an oxygen tank. Next to his bed on the floor, a stack as tall as me was issues of Readers Digest magazine.

A person's got to have a code, a creed to live by. ~ John Wayne ~ In general, personal values evolve from circumstances with the exte al world and these can change over time. For many generations, most of us learned our values - sometimes referred to as morals, from parents, teachers and religious leaders. Family, country, generation, experience, historical environment and your perception of all of these, may also have an influence on the values you adopted. As we participated in life, the influence over our choice of values may have changed.

Everywhere you turn today, you see the headline: How to get what you want in life”, “how to succeed at anything, “how to live the life of your dreams” “how to use the Law of Attraction, “the Secret” and on and on. Many teachers are delivering the same message in books, seminars and throughout the media. Countless people continue to flock to events and purchase numerous books in search of the answer to their burning question, “how can I change my life?” The message is not new-age as some will assert; it is ageless.
