Tricia Dycka is a coach, author, teacher, speaker and enthusiast who encourages entrepreneurs to embrace themselves so they can create an environment that supports their dreams. She loves the “live in the moment” lifestyle and teaches people how to be true to themselves with courage and determination.

Her adventure started the day she left her comfort zone and moved to FL with her husband. To figure out what she felt was missing from her life; she started being aware of what was around her. Letting go of any expectations of what should be and who she should be. Tricia could see the world without blinders on for the first time in her life. From observations, it became apparent that business owners and entrepreneurs were making their own choices about how to live their lives. They seemed in control and to be living out their passion.

Through the adversity Tricia faced after making the decision to be an entrepreneur, she realized her passion is to help others. Her biggest desire is to help others stop the BS in their lives while creating an environment around them so they have the business and lifestyle they want.

What exactly is the truth about being an entrepreneur? It boils down to your own perception of what you feel it should mean to you. To me, being an entrepreneur means empowering others by sharing my gifts and experiences and living my life to the fullest. When I decided to travel the path of the entrepreneur, I was so excited to be my own boss, have the ability to affect others, and embrace the freedom to choose how I wanted my life to look.

There seems to be a consistent theme running about. Entrepreneurs especially women are lacking the support from those closest to them. Being told to “Get a Real Job”or “Stop Playing at Business” “Who do YOU think You Are?” or even worse the silent treatment. I am wondering at this point what is a real job anyway now a days? There is no loyalty or security now a days at a “real job”. To make matters worse these entrepreneurs are putting on a face to the rest of the world that everything is great. Burning the candle at both ends will only hurt you in the long run.

The Holiday Season is a wonderful time for us to reconnect with our family and friends. We might have seen some of them just yesterday, and for others, many months or years have passed. We gather together enjoying a variety of delicious foods and beloved company, hopefully sharing a peaceful sense of gratitude for our lives. Unfortunately it can become a breeding ground for contempt, sarcasm, and some “charming” little comments. Soon after the initial hellos and hugs are over, the questions start rolling in… “SO, exactly, what is it you are doing for work”?

Peace at any cost, what does it mean? To me it means following or agreeing with another in order to avoid conflict. The cost is ignoring what you feel, think or believe. My Grandmother lived this way. I watched time and time again what it did to her. Her belief in peace at any cost came back to haunt her through her stomach ailments. My Grandma has since passed away, and the lessons I have learned from her are invaluable. I took on the mantra of peace at any cost up until my late 20’s. Prior to that, my life revolved around what others felt I should be doing.

What does work life balance mean to you? Is there such a thing? I believe the balance lies in truly engaging in whatever is in front of you. Whether it is work related or you are connecting with yourself, family or friends. I am not here to tell you, x hours for work and x hours for family. That is totally unrealistic, especially if you are an entrepreneur. It is all dependent on your wants. As an entrepreneur, lately I have been spending seven days a week on work.
