Ugo is a licensed professional counselor in w:st="on"Arizona and a master’s level psychotherapist. He is currently a therapist at In Balance Ranch Academy, a therapeutic boarding school which carters to troubled males between the ages of fourteen and eighteen. He is the owner of Road2Resolutions.com a professional counseling private practice.
Raised in Lagos Nigeria until the age of sixteen, Ugo’s journey to the United States, was one of courage in recognizing personal strengths necessary to navigate through life's obstacles and realizing personal happiness. Having experienced his fair share of struggles as an adolescent, Ugo through his studies in psychology and counseling psychology has been drawn into working with troubled adolescents and their families. From his first experience as a caseworker at a juvenile state prison in Texas to his work as a therapist in a private residential program and private practice, for the past decade, Ugo has worked with troubled youths and their parents.
Ugo has a passion for helping people; he describes it as what comes natural to him and a primary contributor to his personal growth. Ugo holds a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology. While he is eclectic in the delivery of his therapeutic services, he primary adheres to the principles of person centered therapy and a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy and mindfulness therapy. He is non judgmental towards all his clients, and he helps his clients play to their personal strengths, with the goal of achieving cognitive flexibility towards becoming resilient to their personal struggles and being successful in all facets of their lives. He also works with his clients to identify unhealthy beliefs and values which contribute to their personal struggles, with the goal of adopting healthier and realistic beliefs and values, which will help them, thrive. This also involves behavioral assignments designed to form healthier habits which will in turn lead to a consistency in the client's new shift in thinking.
